The Staff of Supay

Overview

This is my entry to the IGMC: Rebirth game jam. The jam tasked participants with creating a game that's between ten minutes and an hour long, in one month, in the Maker series of engines, with the theme of rebirth, ressurection, and / or rejuvenation.

The game is 100% free to download. I have enabled donations, so if you enjoy the game and want to buy me a coffee, you absolutely can.

Gameplay

The Staff of Supay is played from a top down perspective. It has a focus on environmental puzzles, with limited combat scenarios. Battles take place on a separate screen and are turn-based, like traditional Final Fantasy and Dragon Quest titles.

Story

After losing his wife, Dr Phil Brenner has been researching ways to bring her back. His studies have led him to Peru and the Temple of Supay, an Incan god of the dead.

Fearing for her grieving friend and mentor, Dr Emily Williams has followed Dr Brenner's trail, enlisting the help of a local guide, Luna.

Can Emily and Luna reach Phil before he tangles with powers he doesn't understand?

Characters

Dr Emily Williams

Emily studied under Dr Brenner and considers him a friend. She knows that losing his wife was hard for him, and she's worried about his wellbeing.

Emily has followed her mentor to Peru to try and talk to him and bring him home.

Luna Jara

Luna lives in a village near the Temple of Supay. She has a duty to protect these sacred grounds and will stop Dr Brenner at all costs. She has been hired to guide Emily to the Temple of Sutay in pursuit of Dr Brenner.
